AND WE ARE BACK! AND EXCITED FOR OUR 35TH SUMMER OF CAMPS!

It's been 45 years since Bob Suter & team USA played against the Soviet Union in what is now known as the "Miracle on ice." Sadly, we lost Grandpa Bobby 11 years ago. Since then, my brother Ryan & I have continued the work where our dad left off by continuing to build and grow youth hockey in our area and all over our state.

We're excited to be back and heading into our 35th Summer of Suter's Hockey Camps. Our Camps are for players of all ages and skill levels. It is an interactive and fun environment where kids will have an opportunity to work with all different types of coaches & players with many different backgrounds and experiences in hockey who really take pride in connecting with every player who's participating in camp to make sure each of their experiences are special.

Our coaching staff will include current and former NHL, Pro & Amateur coaches & players. As well as coaches & players from the United States Hockey League (USHL), the premier tier 1 junior hockey league in North America, as well as division 1 & 2 at the college level. Camp staff will include but not be limited too Ryan Suter {(Currently Playing, St.Louis Blues (NHL)}, Garrett Suter {President of Madison Capitols AAA & Head Coach of AAA Boy's 13o's}, Mick Messner, Wyatt Kaylynuk, Reid Pabich, Cole Hults, Carson Bantle, Jack Horbach, Ryan Kirwan, Anthony Callin, Jeremey Dehner & more. Our coaches have a variety of experience from the USHL, division 1 colleges, semi-pro, AHL & NHL experience, you can just google them). One of our special guest coaches, Tony Hrkas, is considered by most to be one of the greatest players ever to have played NCAA Division 1 Hockey when he played at the University of North Dakota and set an College Hockey scoring record that still stands with 116 points(46 G, 70 A). He's won a Division 1 Championship (NCAA), Calder Cup Champion (AHL), a Stanley Cup Champion and played 12 Seasons in the NHL and 18 years of pro hockey total. More coaches will be added to the list as we get closer, stay tuned!

In addition to our coaching staff we have many current and former Madison Captiols(USHL) player's help out all week by serving as mentors or as we call them "Camp Counselors" who will be around the kids the entire day in the locker room, class room and on the ice. These are young men who playing at the junior or college levels who can answer questions are help with any of the little thing’s kids may need throughout the week.

Breakdown of Daily Activities

To start each day at the "Campers" will be on the ice for two hours back-to-back, with a 15 minute break in between. The first hour we'll work on the basic fundamentals of hockey; skating, passing and shooting, using different drills & tools to teach. During the second hour we'll create some competition through playing different small area games. This will be quality, on-ice time with knowledgable coaches who love the game, and enjoy working with young players.

After we're done on the ice, we'll head upstairs for lunch and a hockey related movie or video. It's a good time for the campers to relax, unwind, and enjoy their lunch (WE DO NOT PROVIDE A LUNCH, CAMPERS NEED TO BRING THEIR OWN).

Then we'll finish the day by heading outside for an off-ice exercise and game to get them moving, competing, and get the last of their energy out before they go home!

If this is the first Summer your child will be attending, they will be very tired on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning when they wake up. If they push through, they'll be able to make it.

We believe kids learn the best when they are having fun, are active all day, and excited to be on the ice. We want players to get outside of their comfort zone by trying things that might not be their strongest skill so we can work on whatever it is to improve it. This will be a positive experience for any of the kids who attend and a highlight of their summer.
